First Mobile Noodle Soup Company To Launch in Manchester

Jessica Dobbs | 20th September 2017

SOOP, a mobile app, is coming to Manchester to deliver freshly made noodle soup right to your doorstep.

SOOP is a freshly made on the day Asian inspired meals, which are less than 400 calories each and contain 2 of your 5-a-day, resulting in a perfectly healthy alternative instant meal. They are also jam-packed with flavour, protein, and veg and designed to fill you up for longer, all you need to do is pour boiling water into the tub, wait two minutes and tuck in. The perfect treat for when you’re on the go.

I was lucky enough to try the new product. With five different flavours, and options for dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan, there was plenty to choose from.

Chicken & Pak Choi SOOP (319cal, approx. 720g, dairy-free, gluten-free)

This tub tasted super fresh as it’s packed with plenty of pak choi, bean sprouts, carrot, and rice noodles, in a garlicy and white pepper chicken SOOP. Topped with a lovely garnish of spring onions and coriander.

Spicy Coconut Chicken SOOP (337cal, approx. 720g, dairy-free, gluten-free)

This tub tasted lovely and fresh with the perfect amount of coconut to compliment the chicken and spicy SOOP. Packed with green beans, bean sprouts, carrot and rice noodles finished with a sprinkle of spring onions and coriander.

Beef Miso SOOP (287cal, approx. 715g, dairy-free)

This tub was one of my favourites. It has a juicy 24-hour seared rump steak in a soy, garlic, ginger and sesame sauce. Packed with green pak choi, spinach, bean sprouts, carrot, and rice noodles in an umami beef miso SOOP. Topped with spring onions and coriander.

Spicy Crispy Pork SOOP (370cal, approx. 670g, dairy-free, gluten-free)

This tub was delightful as it had the perfect amount of spice on the crispy pork mixed with the sweet basil leaves to give a succulent and fresh mouth-watering experience. Also, packed with a generous filling of fresh tasting green beans, spinach, bean sprouts, carrot, spring onions, and rice noodles.

Tofu & Wild Mushroom SOOP (243cal, approx. 680g, dairy free, vegan)

Although I am not a vegan myself, this tub was surprisingly tasty. The dry-fried firm tofu which is marinated for 24-hours in soy, garlic, ginger, and sesame, made for a wild tasting experience packed with flavour and juices. With succulent wild mushrooms, spinach, bean sprouts, carrot and rice noodles, it’s certainly not just vegans!

SOOP also offer a range of energy bars and protein yoghurt pots that are gluten-free and vegetarian, for a perfect healthy snack on the side.

SOOP will launch alongside the Manchester Food and Drink Festival 28th September – 9th October 2017 at the Albert Square, and will then deliver pre-ordered SOOPs to customers in Manchester City Centre.
