Diary dates : There’s a host of things to do this week in Manchester (and even Liverpool), as VIVA picks its famous five of what’s on and a couple to put in the diary.
Whether you’re a singleton looking to date again but need some advice to art lovers and of course our take on the much-anticipated Diecast opening.
Enjoy!
VIVA went to the opening of Diecast, the fantastic new space opened by the crew behind Firehouse among others. At the top of Ducie Street, it’s now open for bookings and we can highly recommend it if you’re looking for great a vibe, some lovely grub and fabulous frozen daiquiris.
There’s lots going on with its industrial interior taken over by Leno Ex Machina which apparently is Latin for ‘By Machine’, including the vertical stage and dance floor.
Currently its home to the Warehouse Kitchen, House of Daiquiri and the Galleria, with more artisan local produce to come.
The food is fab with a great choice of pizza, wings, burgers and a wide range of vegan versions, whilst the frozen daiquiris are epic. We loved the Pina Colada.
There’s also a banging soundtrack with talented DJs if the opening night is anything to go by.

The BITG workshop is delivered by Byron Evans and Francesca Raphael.
Did you know that Manchester has the highest concentration of single people? That’s according to Back In The Game a workshop and social event, helping people present the best version of themselves, when dating. The workshop covers a series of areas from body language to red flags. BITG will help people feel more confident and self-assured about dating.
The BITG workshop is delivered by Byron Evans and Francesca Raphael. The two have built up a wealth of knowledge and experience dating in Manchester. They will share what they’ve learnt in an inclusive, fun environment.
The event welcomes all ages and genders. It doesn’t matter if someone is recently divorced, just left a toxic relationship or suffers from a lack of confidence. BITG add they understand how difficult and overwhelming dating can be.
After the workshop there is a social event in the same safe space, allowing people to mix and try out what they have learned.
It’s on Monday (July 17) at Halle St Peters – Cafe Cotton Ancoats M4 6BF from 7.30pm to 10.30pm. Tickets are £25 plus ticket fee, available from Eventbrite (Search Back In The Game).

Heavenly skybar opens
VIVA enjoyed some excellent champagne and canapes at the exclusive new rooftop terrace opened at INNSiDE Liverpool, when we were over there recently.
It’s raising the bar for alfresco drinking and dining in the city to new heights as the Gino D’Acampo Sky Bar Terrace stands over 270 feet above the ground making it the city’s highest alfresco restaurant and bar.
Located on the South side of the hotel and running the full-length of the 18th floor Sky Bar, Sky Bar Terrace affords guests the opportunity to soak up unrivalled jaw-dropping views of the city’s stunning skyline; its water vantage making it arguably the best spot in Liverpool to watch the setting sun. Which VIVA can vouch for.
In-keeping with the design of the impressive panoramic restaurant and bar, the look is stylish and sleek, with an impressive sit-at neolith cocktail bar for 37 people providing uninterrupted views of the cruise liners docked on Liverpool’s beautiful waterfront and beyond. On a clear day guests can even see as far as North Wales.
Guests can relax sipping on an extensive selection of drinks including world-class cocktails, the finest sparkling wine, Prosecco, Italian and international wines, spirits, and artisan beers.
