Five of our favourite style trends from Harvey Nichols AW19 fashion show
| 4th October 2019
Displaying a stunning selection of their latest designer clothes, accessories, and jewellery, the Harvey Nichols Manchester AW19 Fashion Show offered bold and visually exciting pieces for men and women.
Hosted at the beautiful Manchester Cathedral, the evening started with a drinks reception before fashion fans got a glimpse of the hottest new styles.
Big name labels to feature on the catwalk included Saint Laurent, Paco Rabanne, and Versace, as well as Alexandre Vauthier and Giuseppe de Morabito exclusive to Harvey Nichols in the UK.
Here are five of VIVA’s favourite trends to look out for from the collections:
Colour Pop
A playful mix of rainbow designs coupled with other bright colours made a key appearance on the catwalk. The perfect wardrobe pieces to brighten up those grey winter days!
Half and Half
Another key colour trend for A/W included two-tone jackets, dresses, shirts, and trousers. The original half-and-half concept features a bold colour split down the middle.
Exaggerated Sleeves
This AW it’s all about the sleeves! From balloon sleeved dresses packed with ruffles to beautifully adorned long sleeve dresses, exaggerated sleeves are a must-have this AW.
The Little Black Dress
This year’s little black dress style features deep cut necklines and see-through tops paired with beautiful black skirts.
Logos and Slogans
Merging popular culture logos and slogans with smart and formal wear is a hot trend for men this season.
Deb Bee, Harvey Nichols Group Director of Marketing and Creative said: ‘Our customers like to wear something a little bit different and not what everyone else has got.’
While some looks are for the more fashion confident, there is plenty of inspiration to be taken from the 54 looks offered at the show.
