Fun in the Sun at Emily’s Caffè Bar

A beautiful venue, wonderful weather and tasty cocktails- what more can you ask for?

Viva got to attend a cocktail master class at the wonderous Emily’s Caffè Bar in Warrington. The venue, which is only over a year old, has a huge variety of cocktails on offer and have recently launched a new menu, which viva was invited to try.

To add even more to the evening, we got to make the cocktails ourselves with the amazing bartender Yani- available for as little as £25 per person, including the drinks!

Viva’s Masterclass

The first cocktails we got to try, and make ourselves, were both cosmopolitans made from Vodka, Orange Liqueur and Cranberry juice. They tasted exactly like rockets lollies (with a slight vodka kick at the end…) and making them ourselves was so much fun, it really added a unique element to the experience!

Up next was the classic sex on the beach cocktail made from Vodka, Peach Schnapps, Orange and Cranberry juice. My favourite cocktails, as you can probably guess, are fruity ones but this was hands down the nicest sex on the beach cocktail I have ever tried, it was just so fruity.

Then we had the Long Island Ice Tea cocktail made from Vodka, Gin, Rum, Orange Liquor and Tequila with, I think, a splash of soda. This cocktail was extremely strong (considering it was at least 90% alcohol) and was quite bitter. Never the less though it was fantastic and will definitely get you quite drunk.

The new Menu

After tasting the classics, Viva got the opportunity to try a few of the new cocktails on offer at Emily’s.
It started with the Fresh Batida which includes cachaca, lemon and a choice of Strawberry, Kiwi, Orange, BlackBerry or Raspberry. I chose the kiwi infused cocktail and it was something completely new to me- I’d never had a kiwi flavoured cocktail before. But it’s the perfect summer drink which was complemented by the sunlight that had started to appear outside. The drink was very strong though so be careful!

Finally, we tried the Mai Tai made from Rum, Almond, Lime and Orange and you could certainly tell there were almonds in it! A very nice refreshing drink to finish off the afternoon.
