If you want a night off from COVID (and who doesn’t) then VIVA highly recommends the new music and bubbles with a side of steak at the Argentina inspired Gaucho.
It just oozes sophistication with the stunning Manchester eatery a monochrome masterpiece where black leather booths, cow print and chrome give the perfect backdrop for a night out.
It has a wonderful stage, near the organ in what was this former church and we had a lovely Thursday where the new night debuted with a gorgeous live band. You get a free glass of bubbles, free entertainment, and a wonderful escape from reality every Thursday.
What’s more the food is great too and a meaty haven with a touch of Italian thrown in as well as the more traditional South American ceviche’s and empanadas.
Starters (from £5) included a delicious burrata cheese that was a meal, gorgeously creamy whilst yellowfin tuna was also a fishy and zesty treat.
Onto mains (from £18 for steaks and other mains from £14) and this is where Gaucho shines with its choice of cuts and knowledge. My fillet was cooked to perfection and we shared fabulous side of chips (obviously), mac and cheese and greens.
The cheese had been so good, we share a platter for pud (deserts start from a fiver) and again this was great food.
Our meal was washed down by a light Valpolicella (wines from £30 a bottle) and we enjoyed a Bellini and a margarita from the extensive and delicious cocktail which start from under a tenner.
In other great news Gaucho has extended Eat Out To Help Out so you can enjoy these delicious dishes under the scheme throughout September.
