Gin adventurer covers hundreds of miles in just 15 hours to mix-up menus in six different bars across Britain

Hendrick’s gin extraordinaire is visiting The Botanist Deansgate-Manchester on the Summer Solstice as part of a Gin Journey across the UK.
The gin extraordinaire – Dr Adam Silas Brian ‘FiFi’ Wolfryck Templeton – will be leaving Hendrick’s Gin Palace in Girvan, South Ayrshire before 5am on 21st June as he sets out to share his ‘case of curiosities’ with curious gin tasters and explorers at The Botanist bars nationwide.
The Gin Journey will see him visit The Botanist bars in six different cities and towns, covering 400 miles in just 15 hours. The gin extraordinaire will be swapping between rail and road as he races on trains and taxis from Scotland to Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Cheltenham and finishing in Reading before the sun sets on the Summer Solstice.
The Botanist will be sharing the gin extraordinaire’s peculiar adventure via a series of Instagram Stories @TheBotanistUK. His journey celebrates the mysterious blooms of the Summer Solstice, which inspired the creation of Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice Gin. The limited-edition, deeply floral gin is the first release from master distiller Leslie Gracie’s Cabinet of Curiosities. It’s a delightful and refreshing take on the Hendrick’s house style and is a tribute to the Summer Solstice when botanicals and flowers are believed to be at their most powerful.
When the gin extraordinaire arrives at The Botanist Deansgate-Manchester, he’ll unlock his own ‘case of curiosities’, sharing Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice gin and signaling a round of 21 free G&Ts for customers.
In a nod to the gin’s secretive selection of floral essences and botanicals, the gin extraordinaire will also be swapping secrets of the perfect serve with The Botanist’s bartending experts to create a limited-edition Midsummer Solstice G&T, which will only be available this summer.
