Where are you going to party in Manchester on New Year’s Eve?

Debbie Manley | 30th December 2017

Still wondering what to do on New Year’s Eve? There will be a family-friendly, alcohol free countdown and fireworks display in Albert Square from 10pm, Sunday 31 December.

It is bound to be emotional this year. Big screens will carry messages and poetry, including Tony Walsh’s “This is the Place”, which was embraced by the city following the Manchester Arena attack in May, before fireworks are released from the roof of the town hall at midnight.

Road closures will be in place from 9pm around Albert Square (Princess Road, John Dalton Street and Cross Street closed from 10pm), and all roads will reopen at 1am.

Give yourself plenty of time. There will be bag searches on entry and you may find changes to public transport. If you can’t get to the square, why not get hire a marquee from Cap Marquees and have your own party!

Please visit www.tfgm.com for more travel information.
