The High Kings have announced something big and if you’re in Salford then you’re in luck!

The Irish Folk band will be heading out on their biggest ever UK tour this November.

This will be part of their DECADE world-tour, which started last November, and will run all the way through to April 2019.

DECADE will be a mixture of fan favourites from their 10 year back-catalogue and with some new additions as well.

They are due to play local a favourite on November 18th – The Lowry.

There’s going to be a slight change though, as George Murphy will be taking over from Martin Furey, who left the band in late 2017.

Last year they released DECADE- Best of The High Kings. The album was to celebrate their 10 years together.

The record stayed at number one (in the Irish Independent Album Chart) for three weeks.

Not only that, but, it also reached number 15 in the Billboard World Music chart too.

Curious? Here’s a little taster of their sound:

These guys are popular and good at what they do, so it’s recommended you book quick, if you fancy it.

Finbarr Clancy said: “After ten years with The High Kings, we are delighted to say we have achieved what we set out to do back in 2007.

“We have moved the Irish ballad tradition to the here and now, and we are deeply honoured to become the bearers of the torch, which has been borne with such power and dignity over the past half century by The Clancy Brothers and The Dubliners.”
