Interview: BBC Introducing artist Adolphus

Chaise Simon | 11th October 2017

The artist Adolphus started making music 4 years ago from his self-made studio where he taught himself how to produce music, play the piano and  the guitar. From thereon he has built up his own sound and unique style.

VIVA caught up with Adolphus to talk about his appearance on BBC Introducing and the new music he has coming out.

VIVA Chaise: How did it feel to experience BBC Introducing?

Adolphus: It was cool to experience playing live because there is a certain pressure that comes knowing your live on radio so it gave me more experience for doing any more live shows.

VIVA Chaise: What’s the next step?

Adolphus: At the moment, I’m trying to get more radio play around the world especially London and Manchester because they seem to mess with my music more.

VIVA Chaise: Who do you look up to in the industry?

Adolphus: I would say Tyler (Tyler The Creator) the most, just from how he started out in the music industry and how he has just stuck to being himself throughout his whole career and how he has remained humble.

VIVA Chaise: Have you always been interested in the music industry?

Adolphus: No, I was dreaming of being a footballer but I started getting injuries so I needed a new hobby. I decided to teach myself how to play the piano through YouTube and then that led to producing and writing.

VIVA Chaise: What is your goal to achieve in the industry?

Adolphus: I want to change music I want to innervate and push it forward just by being myself and showing the world what I have to offer.

VIVA Chaise: Where would you favourite place be to visit on tour?

 Adolphus: Tokyo Japan

VIVA Chaise: What’s been your highlight of your career so far?

Adolphus: I would say the show I’m about to do in London I feel like it going to open a lot of doors for me.

VIVA Chaise: How would you describe your music?

Adolphus: it changes a lot it can be hard rap it can be cautious and it can be ignorant. The music I’m working on now is like its own sound so it quite hard to explain.

VIVA Chaise: What make you stand out to other rappers?

Adolphus: I would say my virility I can do almost any style like this next project I have coming up is all me. I’ve produced sung and wrote all the songs and not a lot of artist these days can say they have done that with their music.

VIVA Chaise: Who would you like to collaborate with?

Adolphus: Willow smith and Daniel Caecar
