Jimmy Switch Charity DJ event in Manchester

Lauren Bones | 25th April 2017

This bank holiday Sunday, self-taught Mancunian DJ & Producer Jimmy Switch hosts his own event at Stage & Radio. Not only is this event in Jimmy’s hometown, but all the proceeds from the night go towards the #TheAdobeProject in Uganda.

In May this year, Jimmy Switch will be travelling to Kabale in Uganda with the #AbodeFamily to help build a school and an orphanage. The aim is for the project to be completed and ready for 2017 and then for it to be self-sustainable by 2018.

A project like this has never been done by any sort of DJ, producer or promoter before and it’s a fantastic way to bring lovers of dance music together and raise money and awareness for such an amazing cause.

Jimmy has DJed all over Manchester is clubs like Sankeys and the infamous Studio338, as well as opening at the Pre party at Hideout Festival in Croatia. He has his own brand, called ABODE which is the reason behind the project name. Since starting this brand event, he’s supported for the likes of Sidney Charles, Jozef K and Phil Weeks.

The names you’ll expect to see at the event this Sunday are Elrow’s Cassel, Packed Lunch’s Jay Hodges and Sola’s Dan Partington. All of these DJ’s are big supporters of #TheAbodeProject and want to raise as much money and awareness as they can about it, whilst making it an amazing night.

So, get yourself down to Stage & Radio in Manchester this bank holiday Sunday, for a night of incredible music and dancing until the early hours of the morning and its all for an amazing cause!
