King Street Townhouse Hotel- Manchester’s Hidden Gem

Abi White | 20th October 2017

It might be hidden around the corner from the town hall, but Manchester’s very own boutique hotel situated on Booth Street has phenomenal views that don’t hide the city.

Located in a former Italian renaissance bank building, King Street Townhouse boasts charm, relaxation and luxury in the heart of the city centre. Surrounded by shops, bars and restaurants the hotel couldn’t be any more central.

Considering it’s location, it would be easy to assume that the raucous sounds of the city would make its way into the hotel, yet it remains tranquil and proves to be a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. The interior design matches the harmonious moods of the hotel too, with every one of the forty south-facing suites and bedrooms decorated differently with muted tones of blues and browns- all with views of the town hall.

Super King Sized Bed in Deluxe Jnr Suite

The Deluxe Junior Suite is kitted out with a heavenly super king sized bed with crisp white pillows and a duvet that you can’t help but want to stay in all day, whilst a generously sized bath lies at the end of the bed. The temptation to lie in the bath for hours is almost too alluring, where you can soak up that well-needed ‘me-time’ and leave all responsibilities behind. The huge walk-in shower in the en-suite also brought out the inner princess in me and now no ‘bog-standard’ shower will ever live up to this again.

Already I couldn’t decide what I preferred: being in the bed, being in the bath or being in the shower. Throw in the curveball of an infinity pool and spa that overlooked the city and I was spoilt for choice.

Large Deep Luxurious Bath

The infinity pool in the King Street Townhouse is simply the icing on top of the already wonderfully tasty cake. Located on the seventh floor, you can admire the views all across the wonderful city of Manchester. The experience almost seems too surreal to believe and it’s difficult to comprehend how spectacular this feature really is- making it one undoubtedly one of the greatest spots in the whole of the city, if not the best.

Views Over The City As The Sun Sets

If you opt to eat at the hotel too, the Tavern on the ground floor serves up delicious food that is generously portioned. The sticky toffee pudding is definitely a recommended desert, with the moist pudding complemented by the warm toffee sauce teamed up with clotted-cream ice cream- simply to-die-for!

And if I didn’t think it would get any better, the hotel has recently expanded on it’s allure, transforming it’s cellar space into a private dining area and a luxurious screening room experience. The Wine Cellar is a beautiful and intimate space that hosts up to fourteen guests for a five course tasting menu, and adjacent to the private dining room is The Screening Room; an impressive twenty seater luxury private cinema with state of the art screen and sound system, sofa seating and ambient lighting; ideal for corporate or private hire events.

From it’s attentive and friendly staff, beautiful interior design, fabulous food and the stunning infinity pool and spa, you really can’t go wrong with a getaway in the heart of the city centre at King Street Townhouse Hotel.
