Knock your socks off with our fave new shoe company LANX at Spinningfields Maker’s Market

Jessica Ward | 18th April 2019

Viva loves LANX Shoes and now you can see their latest collection this Easter Sunday (April 21) at the Spinningfields Makers Market and get a free pair of their super cool socks.

Viva’s teamed up with the brand and if you buy a pair of their shoes and say ‘Viva loves LANX’ you get a pair of their wonderful socks worth £14 and obviously created in Lancashire.

What’s more, you can see their new Spring/Summer collection,  which features all the hallmarks that have made the limited release footwear company, founded by Marco ‘Marv’ Vaghetti, renowned for style, quality and more than a nod to its Lancashire roots with influences from overseas shoe adventures.

Marv, who launched LANX from his Nan’s front room following a shoe odyssey to learn the trade visiting 10 countries, says the inspo for this season comes from his time in New York where he studied at the Brooklyn Shoe Space.

Priced from £140, LANX S/S 19 sees a more casual side of the brand as the weather warms up, with a softer palate of browns, tan, grey and khaki, incorporating mesh trainer material and distressed leather for the first time.

The brand’s hugely popular use of tweed continues with a new pattern for the season, again supplied by Benjamin Thornber & Sons from Clitheroe, and LANX has also introduced a Chelsea boot and loafer for the first time.

He told Viva: “This is the second full collection from LANX. It’s slightly more casual to reflect Spring/Summer but we have retained all the hallmarks to make the ‘Proper Shoes’ we’ve become known for. So, come to our pop up and meet us and see the new range for yourself on Easter Sunday.”

Other changes include an embossed rather than printed logo on its distinctive orange ‘good luck’ soles and new fits to some of the shoe shapes based on customer feedback.

LANX prides itself on creating business casual footwear made in limited release runs, meaning once the collection is sold, it will not be available again.

“We’ve sold out of much of the previous collection and we’ve seen people appealing for them on social media which made us very proud, so get in now if you like ‘Proper Shoes’,” added Marv.

LANX can also be personalised with shoe tattooing and painting on the uppers and bespoke sole engraving is also available.

Its success in just one year, means that it will be moving to larger premises in Whalley (LANX’s home town) later this year and will be introducing new lines to supplement its core collection later in the year.

“There’s lots more to come from LANX, so watch this space,” added the 34-year-old Marv.

The collection is ideal to wear from boardroom to bar. For more information, visit www.lanxshoes.com and follow @lanxshoes on all media platforms.

And don’t forget to pop down to The Avenue, Spinningfields, where they will be from 11am to 5pm, on Sunday April 21, to buy your LANX shoes and get your socks. T&Cs apply.

(This competition is not valid with any other offers and is limited to one pair of socks per purchase of one pair of LANX shoes only on April 21, for those who visit the LANX pop up at Spinningfields’ Makers Market, while stock is available).
