Kygo, Disciples and Jonas Blue celebrate Halloween at Manchester’s monster mash-up

Halloween may be over but Capital FM made sure it was one not to forget when they brought their Monster Mash-Up to Manchester on Saturday.

In collaboration with VOXI by Vodafone, Capital’s Monster Mash Up returned for its second year bringing even bigger names. The event, hosted at Manchester Academy, saw JLS member-turned-radio presenter Marvin Humes warm up to some of the world’s most popular DJs in front of a festive crowd.

Chart-topper Kygo was one of the night’s headliners and played some of his globally known tracks including ‘Firestone’ and ‘It Ain’t Me’ which features Selena Gomez vocals. The Norwegian DJ even surprised fans with new songs from his soon to be released ‘Kids In Love’ album. ‘Riding Shotgun’ had a funky rhythm and feel good formula that had every one excited for its official release.

London based trio Disciples also performed, with their hit ‘On My Mind’ being one of the nights many highlights as the crowd dancing and chanted along to the chorus.

The audience, a mix of teenagers and adults alike, were all dressed up in their most spooky fancy dress as they partied until daylight.

Martin Jensen and Sigala, who wowed 80,000 Capital FM listeners at this year’s Summertime Ball, were both back in Manchester to take part at Monster Mash Up. Martin Jensen played his top 10 hit ‘Solo Dance’ and Sigala made sure to include his dance anthem ‘Came Here For Love’ to his exhilarating DJ set.

Along with pop and techno tracks, music fans were treated with some drum and bass from legendary music producers Sigma. The Leeds duo also played at Monster Mash-Up back in 2016, and proved they were no strangers to the crowd as they played their popular hits ‘Nobody to Love’ and ‘Changing’.

Jonas Blue ended the night on a high with some of his most notorious tracks. ‘Mama’, ‘Fast Car’ and ‘Perfect Strangers’ which features Manchester musician JP Cooper, all appeared on the monster set.

The Monster Mash-Up credits itself as being one of the UK’s biggest Halloween Party and after seeing what it had to offer on Saturday night, it wasn’t exaggerating. With an impressing sound system and DJ’s from all around the world, Capital churned out a great night that was definitely less trick and more treat. We’re already excited to see which DJ’s they will bring next year, but whomever they choose, we know the event certainly won’t be BOO-ring. (Sorry, we’ll stop).
