Let us introduce you to VIVA’s new columnist: Miss Jonquille Chantrey

VIVA Team | 23rd January 2019

Miss Jonquille Chantrey, is a world-renowned doctor and surgeon, based in in Alderley Edge at ØNE Aesthetic Studiø.

Miss Chantrey has been leading innovations in aesthetics for over 12 years.

She is supported by both her strong medical team (each of them experts in their field of aesthetics, anti-ageing medicine, skin health) and her well-being team of practitioners (who help clients with their holistic, emotional and spiritual prosperity.)

Each month either Miss Chantrey or one of her ØNE experts will provide VIVA readers information about the latest treatments, discuss inner and outer beauty topics and offer advice for any aesthetic, holistic, beauty and well-being issues you may have…

I am delighted to be asked to write for VIVA, over the coming weeks either myself or one of my team will share insights and knowledge from our ever advancing world of aesthetics, holistic and spiritual well-being.

The physical appearance has long been a human desire, dating back to ancient times, this is not new and is part of our DNA. When pursued in a healthy manner it can be hugely empowering to a vast majority of people. Many of our patients just want the outside to reflect how they feel on the inside. Energised not tired, healthy or confident. Aesthetic medicine is a wonderful adjunct when used in this way.

Our facial disfigurement patients want to improve areas whereby they have felt judged which unquestionably has an impact on self-esteem.

However for the first time in human history we are valuing ourselves internally by others validations of our appearance and success that is apparently measured incessantly and in real time on social media. This may have a positive effect on our self-esteem of positive validation is received. But this is a fragile situation where we handover power to others – even to people who don’t even know and has been shown to create anxiety and depression in some groups.

To complement ØNE aesthetic studiø philosophy that outer beauty fundamentally starts with inner health, the studio offers a plethora of services such as guided meditation, Psychology, yoga therapy and Eastern Medicine.

These help to connect to our true selves by utilising the combination of peaceful relaxation, inner questioning and emotional therapy to strengthen our own identity, so it is less prone to insults from the outside world.

I created ØNE  to build a community for people to improve, explore and celebrate themselves.

We are kicking off our 2019 events calendar at ONE with an event around Inner Harmony, Empowerment and Love on February 13, which will encompass all these areas.

Most of us are so busy taking care of others, parenting and leading busy careers that we forget to take some time for ourselves – to relax, go inwards and practise self-care.

To love ourselves is not selfish and yet we may feel guilty for wanting to reclaim our true qualities and dreams that ultimately lead to better physical health, emotional well-being, loving relationships and a balanced life.

Our personal wants and needs to improve our self-esteem may be external – to feel less self conscious by improving our body shape, our skin condition or to look less tired. Perhaps we want to improve our mental and emotional health without medication or other interventions.

I will be speaking to guests about good self esteem, happiness, and inner and outer beauty.

We will have a very special and unique guided meditation session by our resident meditation and yoga teachers, to calm, relax and help you to find inner peace.

For those interested in skin health, improving body shape or fat loss our clinicians will be demonstrating the latest world leading techniques in these areas.

Our event will also include guest speakers such as  Leanne Brown  who will talk about happiness and relationships. I’m very much looking forward to  this event and will be planning more  around happiness, self improvement and harmony later in the year.

Special offers and discounts exclusive to event attendees will be available.

Two events will run on Feb 13th 2-4:30 PM and 6 to 8:30 PM.

Outside of my work at the studio, I’m delighted to have been invited to the AMWC (Aesthetic and Anti Aging Medicine World Congress) in Monaco, where I will be presenting the findings of my latest scientific project for Allergan (global aesthetic brand which own Botox and Juvederm).

It was a very in depth study, which, was published at the end of 2018. about global beauty image,  patient archetypes and facial aesthetic treatment goals.

On behalf of Allergan I will also be holding a ‘direct to press talk’ and an international press workshop, about patient motivations, self esteem and self image.

These are all areas of my work that I am very passionate about, so I am very much looking forward to the conference in April,  and catching up with some of my international peers. In the sunshine!

Namaste, Jonquille
