There’s a host of fun in store this week in Manchester including budget-friendly happy hours and student discounts.
You can even have your mind read to see if you do really like your ‘usual’. Enjoy!
Mind-reading mixologists take drinkers on adventure in taste
Black Bottle whisky is taking over a bar in Manchester and swapping menus for mind-reading, using brainwave technology to help adventurous customers select their tipple of choice.
Black Bottle will be reading the minds of anyone ordering a drink at Cane & Grain bar using cutting edge electroencephalography (EEG) equipment to measure the brain’s reaction to different flavours and ingredients.
You can enjoy the mind bending experience Wednesday to Friday Between (October 12-14). And the Black Bottle’s Taste Experiment aims to challenge preconceptions around smoky whisky by connecting curious cocktail lovers up to futuristic sensors from an Ivy League University, encouraging them to explore different tastes.
Vapiano in the Corn Exchange is running 241 drinks’ hour Monday to Thursday if you’re looking for a mid-week treat.
The colourful eatery makes it’s own pasta and pizza as well and has a buzzing vibe if you want to line your stomachs as well. VIVA checked it out and can definitely recommend the lasagne and with fresh tasty main dishes starting from under a tenner, it’s the perfect date night or after work catch up.
Head on down to Alderley Edge’s new speakeasy bar, 34 London Road on Saturday 15th October from 10pm for a free arrival drink and live entertainment to celebrate the opening. In true speakeasy style, guest’s must adhere to the house rules which includes over 25’s only, respected mobile phone use whilst in the establishment and of course, not drawing too much attention to your entrance and exit!
