Murad comes to Selfridges with brand new Peel Good Bar

Jessica Ward | 21st May 2019

Hailed by celebrities all over the world, the secret to flawless skin has officially landed in Selfridge’s newly designed ground floor beauty hall, situated in the INTU Trafford Centre.

With A-List celebrity skincare expert Joseph Hernandez on hand, VIVA got the low down on the latest Murad products, along with the coveted glycolic peel administered by the man himself.

Joseph has over 30 years’ experience within the beauty industry. Working with international fashion houses such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and a range of A-List celebrities, and of course with Doctor Murad, the man behind the brand.

The Peel Good Bar covers a range of skin concerns. From hydration and radiance to blemishes and anti-aging the Peel Good Bar is a pick n mix for skincare. With treatment times ranging from 15 minutes to a full hour you can either peel and go or sit back and relax under the care of the many Murad experts.

I opted for the 30-minute express fast-track service (£50). This began with an initial skin consultation. From there Joseph tailored a Glycolic Peel to best suit my skin. Joseph explained the whole process as we went through it. He explained what treatments he used and why they were so important.

After the treatment my skin looked a lot brighter and felt incredibly firm and clean. This treatment is recommended 3 days before an event, the celebrity secret behind flawless red-carpet skin, Joseph tells me he has done many glycolic peels for top A-List celebs before the Oscars (although he was not at liberty to tell me who).

Joseph then took me through the best products for my skin types. We talked mainly about the Resurgence range, which stems from Retinol Tri-Active Technology. Dr Murad pioneered a topical regime that renews elasticity and builds firmness.

The high-performance formula rejuvenates and rebalances skin. The Resurgence range is the favourite of Caroline Hirons who recently visited the Murad Peel Good Bar to speak about her experiences with the skincare range.
