My Kit Co. Beautiful, Functional And Revolutionary

My Kit Co- a make up brush brand grown purely out of love and artistry, with the belief in achieving beautiful results helped by easy application and perfect functionality. Designed by renowned make up artist James Molloy, these brushes hold nothing but the finest fibres and most exquisite natural hair.

Being in the industry for over fifteen years, James has seen the changes in trends and technology, and has first hand knowledge of exactly what tools are needed to create that ‘flawless face’. After kicking off his career working for MAC in the Trafford Centre, with no prior make up experience, James quickly made an impression, and after three short years he had worked his way up to MAC’s senior make up artist for the UK. James’ success saw him go on to work for big clients backstage at some of the world’s most prestigious fashion weeks, and after ten years and twenty seasons he said ‘I’m part of the furniture backstage, which is amazing’… and who wouldn’t want to be furnishings for likes of Moschino, McQueen and Westwood.

But five years ago, the excitement in Asia regarding beauty and technology signalled time for change and a new challenge. So, without hesitation James and partner Alex decided to move to Hong Kong, where James became Director of Make Up Artistry for the South Asia Pacific region. The adventure of constant travel and witnessing the establishment of beauty in China, whilst still working with MAC initiated twinkles for both James and Alex, thinking ‘we love this, but what is next’; and thus My Kit Co. turned from an idea into something undeniably revolutionary.

‘Brushes are the holy grail of make up and you need them to work for every occasion’- which could not be more true. These tools are not only great for the artists, but also those people who love make up. Therefore, the individual brush tutorials which show the model using them to apply products to herself could not be a more welcome feature during a time when so many brushes are available; making it tuff to differentiate uses and techniques.

Everything you see from My Kit Co. is home grown. James designed the brushes, did the make up and photographs for the website, whilst Alex’s background is business management and events saw him get creative with the packaging and marketing, which was positively influenced by their time spent in Asia.

My Kit Co. offer a range of brushes, spreading from your make up fundamentals to those professional, hand crafted tools for that extra special application.
