Paradise found! VIVA welcomes back the Eden Sessions: It seems an age since we were back at the Eden Sessions, but back we were this September albeit later than the traditional summer months.
This year’s sessions included Ben Howard, McFly, Snow Patrol, The Script and Idles. Even more luckily for us this year’s Eden in Cornwall had a band that we’ve wanted to see for a while ‘Royal Blood’.
Royal Blood’s back catalogue is amazing and the success of their current album ‘Typhoon’ heralds an exciting new era for the BRIT award winning band that’s completed a phenomenal hat trick with all three of their studio albums topping the UK album charts.
An unusually warm September evening saw Royal Blood take to the stage with their synonymous bass driven sound supported by a top light show highlighted by the pulsating illuminated Biomes that surround the stage and which are unique to Eden, making a truly spectacular night in the far southwest of England.
The Liverpool trio ‘The Mysterines’ were the special guests in the early evening and with their solid sound warmed up the crowd nicely.
As always, The Eden Project never fails to delight. It changes and grows every year with something new to see or do and you can never tire of time spent in this part of the world.
A visit to the biomes is a must as the plants are forever growing and maturing. You can go from the jungle of Sumatra across to Spain, Southern California, Australia and South Africa in only an hour. Who needs to go abroad!
As always, VIVA can only urge you to take a trip to Eden, it is definitely worth the visit and if you can take in a band as well, paradise.
Next year’s Eden Sessions has recently been announced with confirmed for 2022:
Diana Ross is one of the big names also on the list although is yet to be confirmed.
