REVIEW: elrow town London

From the wild costumes to the showstopping décor and  phenmonal DJ sets, elrow town London put on an event last Sunday that VIVA certainly wont forget anytime soon.

As guests made their way into the Olympic Park the music could be heard from a mile off, the atmosphere building as the crowd bustled through the gates and into the incredible venue.

Stepping in, the place was filled with vibrant colour and cheerful vibes and everywhere you turned the combined themes of Uptown’s Singer Morning ‘Happy Go Lucky’ and Downtown’s ‘Spanish Fiesta’ concepts were present.

After getting settled in, VIVA headed over to check out the first act of the day, Paradise founder and DJ legend Jamie Jones who was B2B with American techno DJ Seth Troxler on the main stage.

WOW. Funky beats and dirty bass drops got the crowd dancing and with the sun shining in the sky and a can of cider to hand, the people of Stratford were set up for a good start to the day.

Next on was Lord Leopard B2B with Liverpool born Méle, who dropped his new summer track ‘Sunshowers’- complementing the Spanish fiesta themes of the Downtown stage stunningly and getting elrow’ers to shake those marracas.

One unfortunate part of the day was when festival goers were left coughing and running after someone let off what seemed like tear gas into the crowd, although the panic didn’t last long as Lauren Lane swept in with the raw, groovy sounds of Chicago House.

As ‘Diary Of A Mad Woman’ blasted out the speakers, the crowds worries were over and people were soon back on their feet and ready to party into the night at elrow’s benchmark event.

Heading back over to the Singer Morning mainstage, German boys Santé and Sidney Charles took to the decks to perform an incredible set which oozed charisma, character and soul to suit the elrow vibe.

Ending the day on an incredible high was English DJ and special addition to the event Hot Since 82, who made sure that the crowd carried on partying into the night and with thousands of smiling faces around it seemed like no one was bothered by the rain.

Walking out, VIVA couldn’t help but feel sad that the day festival was over and surprised that it had gone so quickly- we can certainly say we LOVE elrow!
