Review: Sally Morgan’s Call Me Psychic Tour at Manchester’s Palace Theatre

Psychic to the stars, Sally Morgan took to the Palace Theatre stage on Monday night, as she brought her latest tour Call Me Psychic back to Manchester.

As the auditorium began to fill with people, whether sceptical or not, there was a buzz in the air from people eagerly waiting to watch Sally’s psychic demonstrations for themselves, and witness her passing on messages from loved ones beyond the grave.

The show begins long before Sally initially walks on stage. A video is projected introducing the psychic star, with loud music and bold titles – you could’ve mistaken it for the introduction of a special guest performance on the X-Factor.

As Sally made her loud bubbly entrance – infectious smile and full of energy, she begins by introducing herself to those of who haven’t been to one of her shows before. Explaining to the audience about her ‘gift’ and how she had her first psychic experience when she was just a little girl.

She then went on to explain the proceedings of the night, including choosing from her box of love letters. No, not quite the ones that you might think, these love letters are cards that the audience are prompted to fill out in the foyer of the theatre prior to the show.

The cards read, “ask Sally about a loved one who has passed over and she may pick this card out of her ‘Psychic Orb’ during the evening, and come to you with a special message.”

There is also a box which audience members place photographs of loved ones in that have passed away, in the hope that Sally will pick theirs out during the show and try to provide messages from that loved one.

The beginning of the show initially started quite slow with the first two ‘messages’ that Sally received, failed to be picked up by anyone from the audience. This could have been down to people being afraid of standing up in case they thought the message wasn’t for them.

Sally states at the start of the show that the audience must have done their ‘homework’ as, ”a lot of people that have never been to one of my shows before are very reluctant to stand up and take a message, you will have to stand up if you think a message is for you.

”I also really do feel that if you do get a message you should have someone stand up with you as well, so that you’ve got that little bit of support.”

When members of the audience eventually did stand up to take a message, you could tell that some of what Sally was saying really did shock them and overall became quite emotional.

Although the night was filled with some hard hitting information, the medium did have the knack of combining emotional messages with her sense of humour, and was still able to get a laugh from the audience.

After the show, Sally did a meet and greet in the theatre foyer, where many of the audience queued up to meet the psychic star.

I overheard one audience member approach a lady in the queue, who had stood up during the performance and received a message from Sally about a loved one. She was asked, ’are you an actor or did you know that you were going to get a message?’ showing that some people were still clearly skeptical, to which the woman replied, ‘no I’ve never been to a psychic before and she couldn’t have known half of the things that she was telling me, I was really overwhelmed.’

It’s clear that a lot of people are touched and also intrigued by Sally’s performances with many coming back year after year just to see her, so it’s no surprise that she will be celebrating her astonishing 10th year of touring next year with another new tour already planned.

But if you didn’t manage to catch her in Manchester, there is still time to get tickets to one of her performances, as she continues her 2017 tour around the country. You can buy tickets through visiting her website at https://www.sallymorgan.tv/tour-dates
