CHESHIRE: The Coast in Tarporley reviewed

Sophie Parkin | 4th March 2019

Located on High Street in Tarporley, The Coast is perfectly situated in the middle of the thriving, welcoming community. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted with an intimate ambience and dining experience.

I’m a huge fan of coastal decor, and as the name rightly suggests the light seaside feel still felt like a romanticised setting for a great evening.

We were quickly greeted by friendly staff, all in high spirits and extremely accommodating as we chose where to sit.

The menu is Italian influenced and has a range of dishes to suit all tastes. To start was POLPETTE (delicious Meatballs) and TORTA DI PESCE (Fish cakes.)

Both were absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and the perfect start for our delightful night. The Meatballs, especially, with Parmesan and garlic ciabatta along with the rich sauce really proposed the taste of Italy in this charming little restaurant.

In a seaside setting we obviously had to get a seaside dinner. For mains, we chose BRODETTO ADRIATICO (Mixed fish, king prawns, mussels, clams and tiger prawns in a rich tomato and lobster broth with fresh herbs.) This can be served as a starter (£8.95) or main (£18.95) where you get plenty! Plus, COZZE ALLA MARINANA (Rope grown mussels in a white wine, garlic and parsley cream served with garlic ciabatta.) Priced at £7.50.

Seafood is hard to get right, for me anyhow, but there was zero complaints with these dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed these dishes and the sauce with the Brodetto Adriatico was simply divine.

All in all the setting was delightful, food was delicious and environment was perfect. The value for money cannot be faulted at this place!

Get yourself some good company and go and enjoy yourselves there, I would say date night at The Coast is ideal. Prices are extremely reasonable, especially for such a nice venue. Your wallet and belly can both be happy!
