JUNGLE
“”Jungle is a genre of electronic music derived from old school hardcore that developed in England in the early 1990s as part of rave scenes. The style is characterized by rapid tempos (150 to 200 bpm) and breakbeats, as well as dub reggae-derived basslines, heavily syncopated percussive loops, samples and synthesized effects. Long pitch-shifted snare rolls are common in oldschool jungle. The terms “jungle” and “drum and bass” are often used interchangeably by the layman but this should not be the case. Jungle originated out of oldschool and in the late 1990s the term “drum and bass” was used in association with music that did not have the same emphasis on breakbeats and complex production.””
GRIME
Grime is a genre of music that emerged in London in the early 2000s. It developed out of earlier UK electronic music styles, including UK garage and jungle, and draws influence from dancehall, ragga, and hip hop.The style is typified by rapid, syncopated breakbeats, generally around 130 or 140 bpm, and often features an aggressive or jagged electronic sound. Rapping is also a significant element of the style, and lyrics often revolve around gritty depictions of urban life.
