Rosé All Day! VIVA’s pick of five of the best Rosé: It’s Rosé weather at the moment and what is it about the pink tipple that just goes well with sunshine and glamour. And what actually is Rosé?
It’s not a grape first off, it’s how Rosé is made that makes it different. In fact, it is actually technically a red wine, made like the other reds but with one crucial difference that it doesn’t ferment as long with the grape skin.
This is what gives rosé its hallmark pink color and unlike other vinos, it can be made from any red grape in any country.
That’s great news as we’ve rounded up five of the best Rosé from all over the globe.
Van Hunks is a range of South African sparkling wine equivalents to Champagne from the viticultural paradise of Stellenbosch and Sparkling Meads from. Hand crafted using a traditional method identical to Méthode Champenoise, Van Hunks Rosé MCC is bottle fermented in small batches and matured in contact with the lees for approximately 30 months.
The wonderfully tasting Van Hunks Rosé MCC Sparkling Wine is a combination of Pinot Noir and the elegance of Chardonnay, with the addition of South Africa’s Pinotage, offering a rich and long flavourful finish.
If you’re looking for something different than a traditional sparkling wine, Van Hunks Rosé Sparkling Mead is made in South Africa at the foot of Table Mountain with natural ingredients including honey, hibiscus and water. Van Hunks Rosé Sparkling Mead is produced in the same way as Champagne but with honey instead of grapes. Van Hunks is one of the few sparkling drinks brands in the world to have successfully achieved a consistently high-quality bottle-fermented mead.
