Second Anthology For Cheshire Writer Jeannette Slavinski

Christie Hutchinson | 14th March 2016

The BBC radio Lancs launched The Naked Goddess 11 anthology in support of H4H & Wounded Warriors Project, endorsed by Tim West CBE, in the presence of the Mayor,  Faryad Hussain. Live with a live talk back audience. Talking poetry, art and meditation.

This is the second anthology for Cheshire writer , Jeannette Slavinski, inspired by an invite to meet legendary film star and former Mayor, Mr. Clint Eastwood at his home in US.

Jeannettes mantra, “There is a poem in the heart of every human being” rings clear. She has created a niche for poets and artist to send in their  free style work under the themes of love or war. “Every pic tells a story, not everyone can pen a poem, for the second anthology I chose vibrant art, so for Valentines the BBC adorned their studio walls with stunning art and poetry from around the world, focusing on the love theme.”  The producer Garry Scott and presenter John Gillmore were so impressed with the idea that the BBC kept the art& poetry for a week for public viewing.

Jeannettes own poem is in the book, You Raise Me Up, a narrative about her invite to Clints home town. “I chronicled every second for the 3dy stay and then put it into a rhyming narrative, it’s quite amusing” says Jeannette. I’ve also included a Meditation section.

The anthology is helping to create awareness of the charities involved, I’m overwhelmed by the response of poets and artist, In the young poet laureate sections we have 3 schools involved Byrchall High, Wigan. Lake view Ohio and PaulV1 Highs school, New York. It’s excellent to see how these pupils respond to the themes”. Book is available via Amazon b/w hard back.
