Last week I was invited down to the Cryotherapy clinic in Spinningfields to try out this new treatment promising the results of liposuction without surgery.
As the treatment is based on triggering a physiological reaction to cold temperatures using liquid nitrogen vapours reaching -160 degrees, the body increases its metabolic rate in order to produce heat, so the body burns upto 800 calories in the hours after the procedure.
The outer skin is briefly ‘frozen’, which activates increased production of collagen in deeper layers of the skin. The skin gains elasticity and appears more smoother and even-toned.

I was really worried undergoing this as I just hate being cold. However I was surprised and must say this was one of the most pleasant treatments I’ve ever experienced.
When I arrived I was greeted by the lovely Cryo therapist Kelly. I was measured around my belly area just to see what I was starting with (with Cryotherapy you can see immediate results). Then I was asked to lie on the bed and the procedure started. The vapours were freezing but after a few minutes I just got use to it and the whole thing happened to be incredibly relaxing (it might have been thanks to the fact my skin was just frozen). Twenty minutes on each side followed by an amazing massage after the treatment on each side.
After that Kelly took my measurements and I lost an incredible 5 inches (she suggested that customers usually lose between 1 and 7 inches after the first session). What amazing results I could definitely tell the difference.
