Spring Break is the time for friends to reunite and enjoy a good few days together with great music from great DJ’s at great venues. Amsterdam is where you needed to be for this!

It’s Sunday evening and Spring Break in Amsterdam is about to kick off in five venues across the city that never sleeps. Centred in Rembrandt Square, three of the venues – Escape, Air & Claire – opened with house, grime and bass. Just some popular huge names appeared on the first night to host the indoor festivals. Camelphat turned up their sound and lowered the lights, giving great sounds to the crowd.

Although, the phenomenal DJ, Sub Focus was not there for the opening Sunday night, he was able to reschedule for the Tuesday. Here at Escape, the popular DJ blew the doors off with all of his beats and tunes.

Here is a map to show where each venue was located.

People danced, drank and enjoyed the different range of festivals together through the love of DJ’s and music.

Two rooms were made available at each of the five venues. Spoilt for choice, there was no relaxing or sleep happening on this holiday. Get yourself up and out and enjoy the range of sounds that talented DJ’s had put together, just for their fans.

Club NYX hosted “The Psychedelic Funhouse”. Decorated, painted and dressed up to fit the theme, many could not only burst with joy through being in a new country, but also through the love of dressing up and being in a completely different world.

Melkweg, hosting “The festival of the Dead” being the final venue, located a 15-minute walk from the others, were lucky enough to host the headlining act – Chase & Status. Everyone wanted to see them and hear them. What felt like every Spring Breaker in the room at first, proved to easily be forgotten once the duo came out bursting with energy.

Lights shot from the ceilings to the dancefloors. Bright and colourful. Just for a second you may have caught one passing you, filling your eyes with bright light so you could see from the furthest part of the room to the other end. However, that did not matter. What mattered was that you heard the music and felt it beat through your chest.

Holy Goof had a great turn out, with queues lining up outside to see the star, he broke club Air. Mosh pits formed, and new friendships began.

Bonus other deals were included in the packages. A pub crawl, which took breakers on a trip through Amsterdam’s most exciting clubs, like Hotshots. A boat set sail across the canals of Amsterdam, with Spring breakers clubbing on board with more great DJ’s and music.

Some were lucky to meet international star Big Narstie, who performed on the last Tuesday night in Escape. The iconic DJ strolled through the streets just like any other spring breaker. Clearly Big Narstie was thrilled to be at Spring Break and supporting the other DJ’s.

Although, the music proved to be successful in every way, there must be some light shone upon the spring breakers, who came to have a good time and show off their festival outfits. Show your best self-off in a wondrous, whacky, new city.

Amsterdam. So much to do in a wonderful, marvellous, free city. The daytime proved to be just as crazy and manic as the rest of the city. Free to do more than the normal average city, Amsterdam overstepped the rest.

Museums, coffee shops, parks and attractions, Spring breakers got the most eccentric choice of options to do during the day. Busy and full of light hearted fun and interesting activities, Amsterdam should be on everyone’s bucket list this year.

Never been to Spring Break before, then why not try next year. With so much to do, even Spring breakers will be returning to the glorious city, which stays lit up during the day and the night. We look forward to another year of Spring Break.
