Stereophonics round off Eden Sessions

Acclaimed Welsh rock band Stereophonics took to the Eden Sessions stage on Tuesday.
It was their second appearance at Eden following their Session in 2019 – hailed by the band as an amazing venue with a fantastic audience.

Stereophonics are celebrating 25 years together and in March (2022) released an acclaimed new album Oochya! which entered the charts at number one and became their 8th number one.

The unmistakable sound of the Stereophonics is underpinned by the signature voice of front man Kelly Jones.
They are one of the UK’s most enduring and loved bands and with their latest album, Jones continues to cement his place among the great British songwriters.

Having now achieved eight number one albums, ten top ten albums, 23 Platinum Sales Awards, 8.5 million albums sold in the UK alone, five BRIT nominations and five BRIT Award wins, Stereophonics stand as undeniable giants of British music.

Special guests for the night’s show were Himalayas, a four-piece rock band from Cardiff who have spent the last few years honing their sound and style.
Heavy guitar lines, dual vocals and huge anthemic hooks hold and captivate audiences old and new. They have played at countless festivals including Reading and Leeds and SXSW, sold out local venues and received an impressive amount of radio and international interest.

In 2021, Himalayas completed a sell-out UK headline tour as well as appearing as special guests to the Manic Street Preachers and The DMA’s.
The band, who consist of Joe Williams (lead vocals/guitars), Mike Griffiths (guitars/vocals) and Louis Heaps (bass) met at school and bonded over their love of bands like The Strokes, Queens Of The Stone Age, Muse, Royal Blood and Manic Street Preachers. Drummer James Goldbourn moved to Cardiff from Dubai and found like-minded souls in the trio to complete the line-up.

The event rounds off this year’s Eden Sessions, following back-to-back appearances from My Chemical Romance, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, two shows from Nine Inch Nails, global icon Diana Ross and legendary rocker Bryan Adams.

In September last year Volvo Car UK announced a new three-year partnership as the Official Automotive Partner of the Eden Project and the Eden Sessions music concerts, a deal brokered by AEG Global Partnerships.
This long-term collaboration aims to inspire and educate visitors about people’s relationship with the environment and how we can protect the planet to create a safer future.
