Streaming Mania

Thank goodness for the internet and social media through this pandemic. How crazy is it to think that if the Covid-19 outbreak had happened in the early 90’s there would have been no social media platforms to stream from. What would we have done to entertain ourselves?
There’s been some amazing streams from DJ’s, musicians, artists, cooks plus some fun banter from comedians across social media but there’s been some terrible stuff too. Stop with the lip-syncing TikToks, it’s so cringing, and fitness fanatics, if you’re going to do a morning fitness workout for us, please position your cameras better so we don’t just see your sweaty crotch?! I could carry on but I’ll just stop now ha-ha!
A few shout outs to the good stuff though…
Cook along LIVE with famous faces and influencers
Ok, so I’m a bit biased on this one as the Wokstar aka Eleanor Hoh is one of my Mumzy’s best friends, but I’ve had the honour of tasting her food many times and can 100% say it really is very tasty.
Living in America, the Wokstar has become a fave cooking influencer on the Miami scene and has been working hard over lockdown to bring followers some amazing healthy recipe ideas using
just a wok!
You can join her on zoom for some online classes where she’ll teach you everything for your success, and transforms your cooking into a creative and delicious experience. Are you ready to be the next Wokstar… well click HERE.
Jam out and play together remotely with musicians
This dude is the most talented guy I’ve come across recently; Iwanouz Karibo is a musician, artist, surfer and blogger from Bali.
Unfortunately, I haven’t managed to see him live yet but I’ve been following him on Instagram where he’s been creating some very cool vibes on his keyboard, recreating the legendary Bob Marley tune ‘One Love’ and inviting musicians to jam along with him from home on a live stream. Find him on instagram @iwanouz.
Plus he’s recently launched his brand new original song called ‘Beat All The Corona’ again inviting musicians to jam along with him. CHECK HIM OUT if you’re a musician have a jam! #iwanouzinstajamm
Social media accounts to follow purely for the comical value
I’m completely backtracking on what I said earlier about the whole TikTok thing, but I’ll let this little darling off as she cracks me up! Charlotte Dawson is the daughter of the late legend comedian Les Dawson and you can totally see she takes after her Dad in the comedy department.
I’m literally in love with Chazzas’chuffin world, she’s keeping it real on lockdown whilst entertaining the nation with her outrageous and hysterical Instagram and TikTok videos. Keep them coming Dawsy, you are so too glam to give a damn and we love it! Follow her on instagram @charlottedawsy.
Relive iconic club nights of yesteryear and take part in virtual discos with United We Stream
United We Stream was set up by the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, and Greater Manchester Night Time Economy Adviser, Sacha Lord, and has since raised over £260,000 in just 30 days to save the Manchester night-time economy.
I have been tuning in most weekends and getting my rave on over here in Bali to the likes of Solardo, Rodger Sanchez and Graeme Park at the Hacienda take over, plus Gareth Brooks. Moovin Festival took over for a 12-hour live stream so did the famous Madchester brand and over the last couple of days, there’s been a live stream art battle.
Word on the Mancunian street (well in their homes) is the Hacienda DJ’s will be taking over again for another 24-hour party. Get involved party people!
The Voice UK contestants sing Stevie Wonder’s ‘As’ for NHS charities
You may recognise the name of this band as they were recently on The Voice UK and I am also proud to say that the gorgeous Sarah Goodwin, from the trio, is basically part of the family as she’s dating my little bro (they’re so cute together). The girls organised and produced this amazing video featuring all the contestants from The Voice UK 2020 singing Stevie Wonders ‘As’ which has gone viral and been a big hit in the UK press.
Belle Noir says: “We are using our voices to spread a message of positivity and help raise money for the NHS Charities Together. Music is powerful and we have chosen Stevie Wonder’s ‘As’ with its powerful lyrics as a way to raise spirits, spread hope and give back to our wonderful NHS.”

Watch and listen to world class DJs through Streamland
Last weekend Streamland kicked off in Bali by founders Thess Fischer, Mikey Moran, Fadi Alturk and Echa Anggara. This is a new platform across Indonesia for artists, DJ’s and Musicians to perform live streams from their own homes to raise money for food banks in Bali and to also help the local suffering entertainment industry.
It’s a really cool set up as it’s more like a TV show than just a DJ live streaming, you can see a radio host which joins the live stream along with a guest from their home.
Over 30 DJ’s have signed up so far from Bali, Yogjakarta and Singapore and the team behind Streamland have just announced that they will also be working with the amazing organisation FEED BALI by Tresna Bali.
In Bali, 70% of the populations’ island depended on tourists, that is now almost completely at a standstill and the local people can barely afford any food since they are all out of jobs now. Things are looking to get much, much worse by May and June as any savings will be completely gone.
Up until now FEED BALI program have donated food to feed over 500 families in villages all around Bali and their next goal is to reach 1000 families with the help of the platform Streamland.
For Rp.400.000 (£21), FEED BALI will be able to make packages that include rice, eggs, cooking oil, vegetables and fruits.
I would love for all our VIVA readers to tune into Streamland and donate whatever you can.
A big VIVA shout out to all these legends above, entertaining the nation through streaming and social media platforms along with raising money for charities through these hard times.
I and my lockdown housemates will be going live on my E.M.A Instagram this Friday for a bit of a drum and base sesh, so get your skank on and tune in!
ALSO… here’s my latest E.M.A Party Palace sesh; one hour of pure sexy house beats for you house heads…
