The Beauty Essentials You Need This Summer!

Paige Tucker | 26th June 2017

As we are all aware, summer is a time of intense heat and in the UK a heck of a lot of rain. So picking products that work in both weather conditions can often be annoying. Not only do we want to cover the grease and spots that the sun has brought out, but we also want to look gloriously tanned and glistening.

So when I found out about these products I was over the moon to say the least!

  1. At £30 a tub, this James Read coconut tanning balm is a steal for summer! It smells amazing and has a very natural scent, so you wont be easily rumbled by people smelling your fake tan. It also moisturizes your skin incredibly, leaving it soft, smooth and sun-kissed. The other great thing about this product is that you can build up the tan rather than becoming a Wotsit after one application, so you can be as tanned as you like throughout your summer. This product is great no matter what the weather, it can either help you achieve a deeper tan whilst you are on holiday or it can give you the tan you most desire, even if you are stuck in raining England all summer!

Coming out soon and something you need to run to get your hands on, is this Laura Mercier flawless foundation. It is the collections first full coverage foundation and it does exactly what it says on the bottle. All my pesky summer spots were completely concealed when I used this foundation and it stayed in place really well. It also goes a long way so you don’t need to use much on your brush in order to fully cover your face, so you are essentially saving money and extending how long you can use this foundation for! Keep an eye out on the Laura Mercier website to find out more.

3.

Lanolips, otherwise known as the god’s of balms and moisturisers have the best products for those dry summer lips. If like me you tend to forget about your lips health whilst lounging in the sun and only afterwards realise how sore and dry they are, then this is the product for you! I use this ointment multi balm every single day now and my lips feel fantastic! It also comes in a small tube, perfect to pop in any handbag, so you have it on you in case of dry lip emergencies. You can purchase this product for a mere £7.99 and it will last you for ages! They also have an amazing rose hand cream which is great to pop on before and after sleep, especially if you have a fan in your room that dries out your skin and you can buy it from only £10.20 on Lookfantastic!

4.

Suqqu is either a brand you love intensely, or a brand you have yet to discover. For me it was the later, but now I am quickly falling in love. They are a Japanese brand, that sell high quality makeup products and sell out in Selfridges like nothing you have seen before. I got the luxury of trying out their new bronzer, which is coming to their website and selected stores soon. Above is their blush which comes in the same pallet as the bronzer, however, the bronzer has an ombre effect to it, going from dark brown slowly into a more auburn shade. The bronzer like the blush comes in a very delicate palette, perfect to slide into any bag. But don’t let this delicacy trick you as they are very rich in colour and so you only need a small amount on your brush in order to get the wow factor. I think this is the perfect product for summer as it can either emphasise your tan or give you one depending on how you apply it, making it perfect for the UK summer!

5.

This soy face cleanser from Fresh is the perfect way to remove all your makeup for summer. It is super quick and easy to use, plus its pretty refreshing on your face. You just wet your face, rub it in then rinse it off with water or a flannel. It literally takes every inch of makeup off, letting your skin breathe during those hot summer nights. It is more on the pricey side, but it will leave your skin feeling soft, refreshed and nourished, so I think it is worth the investment. You can buy it from Fresh’s website directly for £32.

Finally, another great product from Fresh, is this sugar cream lip treatment. Now, before you start panicking, no it is not full of sugar crystals that hurt your lips, in fact it is quite the opposite. I found this product to be very smooth on my lips, it also smells divine and doesn’t even taste bad if you accidentally get some in your mouth. Another great aspect about this product is the colour, you can choose from a variety of colours so that your lips are not only moisturised but have a colourful glow too. This is great for applying in summer when you want a little more nourishment for your lips and a slight tint, to make your lips pop! You can get some of the sugar cream range on the FreshUK website for £20  but look out for more coming soon!
