This year Eden Sessions kicked off with multiple platinum hit US band ‘My Chemical Romance’.
Formed in Newark, New Jersey they made their debut in 2002 with the independently released album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love. Following its commercial success over many years, the band split up in 2014.

In 2017, the band reunited and in 2019 they announced a reunion show which was then extended to a small tour. In 2020 the band announced North American and European tours but were postponed until this year due to the Covid pandemic.

So this brings us nicely to 2022 in Cornwall and the Eden Project who have been lucky enough to book My Chemical Romance for two nights this May before their extensive tour in the summer.
My Chemical Romance
Tuesday night at Eden was coolish and overcast with a little bit of sun but it didn’t seem to stop MCR’s extensive fan base from dressing up in lots of black leather, plastic and black makeup in true Goth style. Fans of MCR came from as far away as Canada .. which gives you some idea of the loyal pull this band attracts.
My Chemical Romance
From the get-go My Chemical Romance and their lead singer Gerard Way launched into their catalogue of best-known songs that everyone in the audience seemed to sing along to.
The atmosphere was incredible, much in part to the location with its gently sloped bowl overlooking the stage that gives the impression of being squeezed between the illuminated Biomes, housing plants from the Mediterranean and across the world. It is probably one of the best places to visit let alone witness a top band in full flow.

Clearly, MCR is massive, having not been around for a while hasn’t stopped their loyal fans from sticking by them.
My Chemical Romance are on a massive European and North American tour this year with dates still available in the UK this month across the country and dates in early 2023 in Australia and New Zealand. Get them while you can (as you can be sure they will sell out) by checking the band’s website here.
Lost Alone Band at Eden Sessions.
Support for the evening was from the band ‘LostAlone’ headed up by Steven Battelle and described in the Alternative Press as the most underrated band in the history of music. I think they could well be, putting on a top performance warming up the excited crowd.
LostAlone Band
