AN OPEN AIR CONCERT AT HAYDOCK PARK RACECOURSE

The Corrs; 18TH JUNE 2016

Returning with a bang for 2016, The Jockey Club Live presents An Evening at the Races will welcome The CoCORRSK.WESTENBERGBW4.Shot_08_017rrs as the first act added to their summer season of open-air live concerts at Haydock Park Racecourse. Last year, over 40,000 fans descended onto the hallowed turf to see show-stopping headlining performances from Kylie, Madness and Kaiser Chiefs after a day of racing.

Since releasing their album ‘Forgiven, Not Forgotten’ in 1996, The Corrs have gone on to sell over 30 million albums worldwide. Known for it’s including ‘Runaway’ and ‘Breathless’, the band took a 10-year break to spend time with their families while Sharon and Andrea also pursued solo careers. They returned last year to a rapturous welcome, with their album ‘White Light’ going straight into the UK charts at #11 and saw the band catapulted back into the touring circuit with a sold-out arena tour.

 The Corrs said:

‘We love open-air summer shows, so are really looking forward to playing Haydock Park on 18th June after the races. We had a fantastic time playing songs from our new album ‘White Light’ at the Echo Arena at the start of the year so can’t wait to perform all our hits for a few familiar faces and more this summer.’

Jason Fildes, Haydock Park General Manager, said:

‘We’re delighted to announce The Corrs to kick off a thrilling summer of music at Haydock Park – they are a superb globally renowned band who I’m sure will create an electric atmosphere after a top class day of racing. Last year was our most successful year of music at Haydock Park which included a sell-out performance by KYLIE – I’m sure this year will be even better, starting with The Corrs on Saturday 18th June; we look forward to announcing other exciting acts shortly.’
