The NTA’s: Who, What and Where

Abbi Minchin | 22nd January 2016

The awards took place on Wednesday night and out came our favourite television stars for a night of excitement! Dermot O’Leary hosted the shindig which was opened in fantastic style by Gloria Gaynor, with a rendition of ‘I Will Survive’.

Ant and Dec were crowned TV Presenters of the Year for the 15th time in a row, proving that they truly are the nations favourite! Shayne Ward took home the prize of Best Newcomer for his role in Coronation Street as Aidan Connor. I’m A Celebrity won for Best Entertainment Programme, while Gogglebox won the Factual Entertainment prize. The Big Bang Theory was recognised for the International award, while Eastenders took home the big prize for Best Serial Drama. As well as many, many more.

I am sure you have all heard by now about Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield’s wild night on the tiles, and the subsequent documented hangover. They deserve to let loose considering their big win for ‘Most Popular Live Magazine Show’, where they beat out Good Morning Britain, Loose Women, The One Show and Lorraine to claim the gong. Holly looked beautiful in a white gown (even with the mint sauce stain the morning after), claiming the prize of one of my personal best dressed.

Talking about best dressed… There weren’t that many, in my opinion. The bad outweighed the good. However, there were a few that stood out to me:

Amanda Holden stunned in a semi-sheer black gown, that made her look much younger than her 44 years. Katie Piper opted for a plunging neckline that looked incredible on her, showcasing her toned figure. Emma Willis chose a minimalist floral midi length dress, which complimented her pale skin and cute little baby bump wonderfully. Caroline Flack went fun and flirty with a short afternoon-tea style monochrome dress – perfectly fitting her personality. Rochelle Humes and husband Marvin Humes looked like the perfect Amazonian couple, in a strapless coral dress and classic tuxedo paired with bowtie.
