With summer approaching the last thing you’ll want to do is sit in a dark cinema room, but with so many exciting new releases out in summer 2015 we’ve put together a list of unmissable films for when you need a break from the sun.

1) Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn’t lying when he said “I’ll be back.” He returns in the latest edition to the franchise, Terminator Genisys an unexpected ally to Sgt Reece, who finds himself with the strange mission of having to reset the future. Expect clever time traveling twists in the plot and quality acting  with Game of Thrones, Emilia Clarke playing Sarah Connor. Out 2nd July 2015.

2) Four years after the tragic death of singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, famed for top ten chart hits such as Rehab and Back to Black, a biopic film aims to unpick her life and depict the truth behind the talented signer that died from an overdose at just 27. Amy is directed by Asif Kapadia, who was at the helm of Bafta-winning documentary Senna, about the Formula 1 racing driver Ayrton Senna, so looks promising.

Controversy surrounds the film, with Amy’s father Mitch Winehouse telling the BBC in April 2015: “These guys have decided what to put in and what not to put in. It’s a two-hour film and you can’t put everything, but there’s a got to be an element of balance and there isn’t any.” We’ll leave it up to you to decide how balanced a portrayal the film gives of Amy’s life and family. Out 3rd July 2015.

3) If thrills, heart stopping scares and epic special effects are more up you street, Jurassic World is a must-see. Set 22 years after the original blockbuster, Jurassic Park, the plot centres around a dinosaur theme park. To combat declining visitor rates, an exciting new dinosaur is created and introduced to the park, with horrific consequences. With filmic legend Steven Spielberg as executive producer, the dinosaurs being bigger, faster, stronger and down right more terrifying and featuring rising star, Chris Pratt, Jurassic World looks to have all the ingredients for the perfect movie experience.

4) If you’re a gaming fan, you’ll love action thriller Hitman: Agent 47, based on the hit game series, which revolves around an elite assassin, who was genetically engineered from conception to be the perfect killing machine after decades of research. Things look set to get interesting when his latest target is a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of Agent 47’s past to create an army of killers whose powers surpass even his own.Teaming up with a young woman who may hold the secret to overcoming his powerful enemies, 47 confronts stunning revelations about his own origins.
