Ultimate Performance, who run an elite personal training service for men and women, have launched in the city following successes in London, Marbella, Hong Kong and Singapore.

UP have opened a bespoke personal training gym in the former Granada Studios building, and UP chief executive Nick Mitchell is proud to broadcast his firm’s decision to come to Manchester.

He said: ”Opening up our first UP gym in England, outside of London, was a no-brainer for me.”

“Manchester is a vibrant and energy led city, and to set up in such an evocative site on the Manchester skyline as the Granada building is an added bonus.”

“It is the spiritual home of some of television’s most famous programmes like Coronation Street and World In Action.”

“It will be seeing some different sort of action now…from hitting the cobbles to pounding the weights!”

UP has taken up 5,000 square feet of space and equipped it with the most modern fitness equipment from companies like Watson (UK), Canadian firm Atlantis and American based Life Fitness.

Nick continued: ”Our culture is providing people with the opportunity to gain maximum results in minimum time.”

“We are the only international personal training business in the world and will be expanding into America and the Middle East after Manchester. What’s made us special is that we give our clients what they want – tangible results!”

“The Granada base is, however, temporary and we will have purpose built headquarters in Spinningfields in the summer of  2016.”

“I want people from Manchester and the surrounding region to know that we have cherry picked the best possible equipment.

It is vastly important that gym equipment is bang up to date so that clients get the results they want and need.”

“We want to help clients change their bodies- that is our proven track record. We want to do that in weeks not months. Men and women want to see a significant return on the investment that they are putting in, and this is where UP steps up to deliver.”

“You have only got to go and see the Wall of Fame in our gyms to see the hundreds of results we achieve each year.”

“We are not in this business for people who want a rent –a –friend trainer or an easy ride. We do whatever ti takes to help our clients achieve their goals, but we do it in an educated and motivational manner.”

“Our culture is all about maximum results in minimum time, and in a way we are business centred around maximising efficiency because we get a client where he or she wants to be with the least wasted effort.”

“We have assembled a top team of trainers for UP Manchester. That’s what the city deserves.”

Nick also wants to change the sweatshop image some gyms may have.

In a real “state of the art” move he has launched a competition to commission a unique piece of artwork from students in Manchester to enhance the walls of his gym.

He explained: ”We wanted to integrate and interact with the community, and this will also help showcase a very talented students’ creativity.”

“We have asked the Manchester School of Art which is part of Manchester Metropolitan University, to get students to submit their pieces, one of which will be selected to become a visual centre-piece in the gym.”

Nick may be CEO of Ultimate Performance, but he also learned his trade at the fitness front line.

He believes that fitness does not happen by accident but by educated effort .

He founded UP, and has been hailed as “Europe’s best personal trainer” by his fitness industry peers.

Nick has worked with an array of professional athletes, and competed in strength and conditioning competitions himself.

He has also helped film and pop stars change their physiques in record time.

“I have taken people with untrained bodies under my wing for three months and they have ended on the front pages of the highest circulating fitness magazines.

“There are many reasons why people want to get fit and look good,” said Nick, ”What we set out to do is offer the best advice, environment, culture and equipment so people can achieve that goal.”
