VIVA Met The Experts At ONE Aesthetic Studio

Christie Hutchinson | 17th May 2019

As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, VIVA met the experts at Alderley Edge’s ONE Aesthetic Studio in a panel discussion from some of the hottest and most experienced specialists in their fields. Hosted by Dr Jonquille Chantrey, founder of the practice, got into conversation with Calum Tienery (Director of Terence Paul Salons and UK ambassador for Rapture Hair Extensions), Ashleigh Guthrie (sound healer and meditation teacher), Mark Bohannon (Commercial Director at Ultimate Performance Gyms), Lorraine McCulloch (celebrity fashion stylist) and Penny Silver (reiki master and EFT practitioner).

They considered various topics including body image, nutrition, wellbeing, meditation, mindfulness, inner & outer beauty, self improvement and self love in today’s society. I don’t know about you, but it’s a topic discussed between various people and myself on a weekly basis.

This is the beginning of Dr Jonquille’s journey in creating a collective around improving self esteem relating to body image, entitled ‘ONE Beauty’ and I think we’ll all agree it’s about time this became a more hotly discussed topic. ONE Beauty starts in the mind, not the mirror! But if you are going to look for beauty in the mirror, stop looking for the flaws and look for the beauty within… and that’s exactly what we did during a mirror soul exercise with Ashleigh. It was such a simple, yet powerful exercise, making you feel like the only person in a full room.

Dr Jonquille Chantrey commented:

“Our first meet the expert event was an incredible success. I have dedicated my career to helping my patients achieve their most exceptional results through a combination of artistry and my international scientific lecturing. This is where a complete beauty lies. We also discussed fitness, style and hair health. We shall be running more educational events as part of my ØNE Beauty Project and it was an honour to dedicate our first to mental health awareness.”

VIP guests included; ex-Coronation star Catherine Tyldesley, Hollyoaks actresses Sarah Jayne Dunn and Nicole Barber Lane, TV presenter Natalie Anderson, and actress Sophie Austin.

Actress Sophie Austin said:

“What Jonquille did with Meet The Experts is bring together a group of gifted people from different parts of the health and beauty industry, who as a team promote wellbeing and positive body image inside and out. She has done such a magical thing in this movement to encourage everyone to improve on their whole being, and in doing so all the guests came away with so much more.”

I think I speak for many people in the room when I second what Sophie says in the way that we all came out with so much more and feeling very reflective.
