Jessica Ward | 2nd August 2019

From plastic in the oceans to melting icecaps and the frankly crazy Manchester weather at the moment, we all want to our bit to help the environment but what can you do?

Well a new group is launching in Manchester next Sunday (August 18) and will be touring other cities to highlight the issues, campaign for change and give practical advice from plastic-free shopping to sustainable fashion.

Co-founder Gemma Gratton explained: “The Sustainability Diaries ?is a collaborative collective of determined individuals wanting to help create change on a larger scale across UK cities. The idea is to educate, through face to face connections as well as social media channels, bringing educational talks with experts to your city.

“Our events will bring an educational pillar, along with community, awareness and most importantly how to be sustainable in our everyday lives. Supporting each person on their sustainability journey, providing workshops, organisations and locations in and around each city where we can each do our bit in being the change we need ?to see in the world.”

The launch event is at Wilsons Social, 42-44 Oldham Street, Northern Quarter, Manchester, M4 1LE and starts at 3pm

Added Gemma: “Our first event will focus solely on education, so please come on down, pitch up and have some great food, or a juice at our chosen venue that caters for all guests. We have live musicians and artists that will entertain in-between to enable you to digest information and keep engagement throughout.   The event is free admission but will be ticket only available on Eventbrite.”
