Welcome new band RXPTRS to the stage

Coral Daniels | 2nd March 2018

There’s a new band on the alternative block in the form of RXPTRS .

They’ve only been together a short while, since the end of last year in fact, but already they’ve made a stir in music with their debut single ‘Bound’.

They draw on influences in hard-core punk and theatrical rock; from the likes of My Chemical Romance, Every Time I Die and Beartooth.

These influences are evident in ‘Bound’ and the ferociousness is reflected in their video too, with what looked like a mental house party/ gig.

Despite being a newly formed band, they’ve got a slick and fine-tuned sound already. That’s probably because they’re experienced musicians, who have been in bands before.

Simon Roach, Vocals, states the single is: “an account of a passionate relationship that turned incredibly violent and abusive. It’s a semi- autobiographical story of the breakdown of the relationship, a love story with a twist.”

You can check out the video below:

They recorded the track with Oz Craggs (Feed the Rhino) at Hidden Track Studios.

The quintet recently supported Speaking In Shadows on their Farewell Tour and played a sold-out show in Bristol too; leaving a trail of excited new fans behind.

If they can get the right support and boost their Spotify listeners, then they are sure to be a break-through band for 2018.
