What every traveler in Miami should know before traveling abroad

There are so many things that need to be planned when traveling abroad. Living in a city like Miami, you may think you’ve seen it all, but the world is filled with wonders to be explored, as well as many unexpected situations you might have to face. That’s why it is always important to be prepared, know what to expect and plan in advance to get the most out of your trip to ensure that you have everything under control.

Airport parking

One of the things many people tend to forget to plan when traveling abroad is where to park your car safely while you’re out of town. Instead of paying a fortune, there are many options for Miami Airport parking that will keep your car safe without having to pay a hefty price. Parking at the airport will also allow you to get to your terminal free of stress and worry without having to use public transportation. Just remember to book your parking in advance and access the GPS location before you leave your house to get to your parking spot without any hassle.

Head to the airport early

With Miami International Airport being one of the busiest, most crowded airports, it is best to head to the airport at least 3 hours in advance to avoid missing your flight due to the immense traffic. That way, you won’t be panicking in the long queues at security checks or passport control and will guarantee that you have enough time to get to your gate without having to run for it.

Place your liquids in a transparent, sealed zip-lock

While internal flights sometimes don’t really focus on the number of liquids you have in your cabin bag, for international flights, this rule is always applicable. So, to avoid getting your liquids chucked into the trash right before your eyes, you should make sure that each bottle is less than 100 ml and that all the liquids you’re taking with you fit into a small, transparent zip-lock. In order to avoid having to open your luggage at the security check, it is always best to place your liquids in the front pocket of your cabin bag or in your personal handbag for easy access. That way, you can also speed through the security check.

Check your passport’s validity period

Traveling internally doesn’t always require the use of your passport; however, when traveling abroad, you not only need your passport, but you also need to make sure that the validity period is enough according to the country you’re visiting. A quick online search will inform you of the required validity period to be able to enter the country of your destination. In some countries, a 6-month validity period is required, while others only require 3 months. However, it’s better to be safe than sorry and check well in advance to have enough time to renew it if necessary.

Traveling abroad can be so exciting that you forget the little things. But, once you’ve gotten these things under control, you can start having all the fun and planning for the rest of your trip without having to worry too much about the details. Just make sure you stay informed and have a safe trip!
