Habas launches new £15 lunch deal
Traditionally the main meal of the day in Middle Eastern culture, Habas has launched a new lunch menu in celebration of the dining occasion.
Created by Head Chef Craig Rutherford, the new menu is full of flavour and combines a number of classic Middle Eastern dishes served with a modern twist.
Built around two plates (one main and one side) and including a Beirut beer, glass of house wine, or soft drink for £15, its incredible value too.
Catering for every diet, diners can choose from one of six mains plates including chicken shawarma; crispy fried halloumi (v); braised lamb shoulder; chicken schnitzel; roast sweetcorn falafel (vg); and Merguez sausage – a spiced lamb sausage burger, served in one of three ways – a salad bowl; freshly baked pitta; or a hummus bowl, including pitta crisps and house slaw.
Sides include Persian-style rice (vg); batata harra (v) – spicy fried potatoes served with dill sour cream; and fried aubergine (v), served with pomegranate molasses and mint yogurt. Freshly baked pitta bread with house slaw; a mixed-leaf salad with house dressing, and Habas hummus with pitta crisps and house slaw are also available.
All are served in the restaurant’s atmospheric snug and bar, with an emphasis on relaxed and social dining, another trait of Middle Eastern culture.
