Mecanica is the new bar that’s just what we need in these turbulent times with next level cocktails and perfect platters to accompany them.
It’s all velvet and chrome with friendly servers and a wonderful way to order whatever tickles your fancy with a light box lamp on your table, which tells staff when you’re ready for more drinks or food.
The attention to detail is special here and sustainable, from using up misshapen fruit to make their cocktail mixes to growing botanicals.
And its shows in these delicious tipples which are elegantly served and give you a wonderful escape from Covid reality starting from £9.
It’s brought to us from the team behind the unique Northern Quarter success story, pay-per-minute cafe and workspace ClockWork, has taken over the former Quick Brown Fox unit on Swan Street – adjacent to its sister site, Manchester’s first co-living scheme Oppidan Life.
Quick Brown Fox voluntarily surrendered its lease after reaching an amicable agreement with the landlord. Its replacement, the bar and small plates concept called Mecanica, drawing inspiration from the city region’s rich industrial heritage.
We sampled the eponymous Mecanica cocktail which was a gorgeous velvet strawberry sensation, whilst gin and champagne was elegance in a glass and the rest of our drinks more than lived up to this standard, with good looks and taste.
And we enjoyed platters which start from just £5 including an excellent charcuterie board complete with boar, a cheese platter which we adored and a sweets board from Slattery’s.
Mecanica’s website is currently being built but you can pop by or get in touch through their Facebook page for the time being. And do go, this bar is well worth supporting and a great addition for the city.
