Al Fresco Fashion: Finally, we can put our online shopping addiction to good use and pick up a few summery pieces to celebrate the ending of lockdown and the good weather.
VIVA Lifestyle Magazine’s fashion experts have done the hard work for you and picked six of the best pieces to look uber stylish at your favourite beer garden this spring!
Chrochet Hats
A great al fresco accessory are hats, particularly crochet hats which are especially popular right now.
Ideal for keeping wind away from your hair or just to add something extra to an outfit.
Go for something neutral like Asos’ crochet straw bucket hat (£10) to match any outfit.
Flatform Sandals
Whether you love or loathe them, flatform sandals and flip flops are the shoe of the season and seem to be here to stay.
This ode to the iconic Lizzie McGuire flip flop or alternatively 2000’s mum “fit flop” are inundating our Instagram feeds and are a playful addition to a summer outfit.
Atelier by Vagabond currently have a premium pair of platform flip flops at Office in black and the shade “sesame”. Both will definitely add a fashion statement to the perfect beer garden outfit.
Polo Cardigans
That’s “Very Ralph”, well the polo cardigan silhouette certainly is and it’s the perfect al fresco fashion piece.
Free People have taken a modern and feminine twist on the classic polo top and created an airy and a la mode cardigan which is a great layering piece for spring/summer evenings.
Available in a range of colours (although my personal fave is the deep green colour in “off tropic”) the cardigan can be worn by itself as a top or over a dress or camisole top and jeans.
Sweater Vests
Who would have thought that Chandler Bing would be predicting 2021 fashion trends? Definitely not Rachel Green. But 90’s sitcoms aside, there is no doubt that the 90’s sweater vest is back in style.
Adored by fashion idols like Harry Styles and Kendall Jenner, the sweater vest is another great layering piece for outdoor lunches.
Urban Outfitters have a huge selection of sweater vests from £45, a great one being the Iets Frans brown check vest above which is sure to make any outfit look fashionable.
Spoon Rings
Spoon rings, which were first made in the 17th century by servants who couldn’t afford traditional wedding rings, are a fab way to bling up an outfit and are the perfect accessory to an alfresco drinks Instagram photo.
The sustainable and independent brand Bonnie Nolan sell beautiful chunky solid silver spoon rings which are trendy yet timeless that from £40 for all sizes.
All rings are made to order and are handmade from antique and vintage English, sold silver tea spoons, huns!
Midi Denim Skirts
Midi denim skirts are a great option for al fresco lunches. They are summery but still cover your legs and look really good!
Zara have a beautiful light wash denim midi skirt with a slit up the front to add some shape.
Prices range from £25-£30. Pair with some white trainers or flatform flip flops for an easy but put together daytime look.
See you in the pub (garden)!
