Ah, Manchester. One of the biggest cities in the UK, the birthplace of the infamous Gallagher brothers of Oasis and not to mention its football associations.

It’s no wonder so many people are starting to opt for Manchester over London when it comes to going away for a long weekend, but have you ever considered living there? Surely that’d be different?

Well, it’s actually been proven that the inhabitants of Manchester are some of the happiest, most sociable, welcoming and community spirited you’ll find across the whole of the country. Whereas London once had a monopoly on excitement and job opportunity, Manchester is a new and innovative up and coming city that is becoming a more and more appealing settling ground for ambitious youngsters.

If you’re planning on relocating somewhere in the UK, then here are just a few of the reasons why you should pack up your things, and get yourself to Manchester ASAP.

Relocating in the UK? Here’s why you should pack your bags and move to Manchester

The Culture is Immense

Companies like Ready Steady Sell advise that when selling a property, you have to sell the place too. And what more important thing about a place than its culture and cultural heritage?

Well luckily for Mancs and visitors alike, Manchester is bursting with it. In twenty fifteen, the city of Manchester actually won Museum of the Year with their amazing Whitworth Art Gallery – and that’s without mentioning their numerous quirky venues for music and art culture.

When you think about it like that, it’s no wonder that two of the biggest brit pop bands in the world were formed here. Both Oasis and the Stone Roses are paid homage to all over the city of Manchester and beyond, and no one is prouder that this is their birthplace than inhabitants who are music fans. Who knows who’ll be discovered next?

It’s all Hustle and Bustle – but with Heart

If you like the hustle and bustle of a busy city to keep you inspired, but London is a little pricy for you – then the answer could be Manchester.

With a population of as many as 415,200, Manchester never fails to have that “busy city” feeling, regardless of where you are – and yet with it, they keep their sense of community at all times.

All you need to do to see the love, hope and community spirit of Manchester is a city, is to look at the way it responded to the terrible terrorist attack back in 2017. The entire city crowded together to support, love and protect one another without a second thought for themselves. In times of crisis, you can certainly see the true spirit of a city – and Manchester’s remains strong, loving, and supportive.

If You Like a Pint or Two, this is the City for You

It’s no secret that Northerners can hold their drink – and this is no more true than in the case of Mancs – and when you look at their nightlife, it’s no surprise.

Manchester is bursting with bars, clubs and quirky pubs – and wow, do its inhabitants like to drink them dry! If you’re after edgy, the Northern Quarter is perfect for you whereas if you’re looking for classy cocktails, Deansgate is probably more your thing. The point we’re really trying to make, is that there’s something for literally everybody on the night out scene.

If you’re stuck, you never need to walk far to get to the next bar – so why not try a few until you find your perfect spot? You’ll soon find one, believe us.

It’s Affordable

Because Manchester is further North than South, you guessed it, it’s affordable to buy there. Hoorah!

Whereas many places down South are known as unaffordable for both mortgages and living costs, midway Manchester boasts at being affordable. Not only is it affordable, but you’ll be able to have a great quality of life too.

Living in Manchester AND owning property? It’s almost too good to be true.

It’s a Place of Opportunity

Finally, Manchester is a place of opportunity in all sectors.

Business is booming in Manchester, and the arts are rife. It’s host to one of the best theatre schools in the country, as well as being the home of Media City which is known for producing some of our best loved well known British TV shows. If you’ve got a dream, then you don’t have to go to London or New York now. Manchester is up there with the best of them.
