Iconic vegan pizza restaurant opens in Northern Quarter, Manchester: A much-anticipated restaurant is bringing its 100% plant-based, vegan and gluten-free menu to the city centre.
And you can win a three course meal and drinks for you and your mates at the opening weekend!
After a complete refurb of the former Dough Pizza Kitchen site in the Northern Quarter, the team at Purezza is ready to welcome pizza lovers, and as a welcome treat will be offering free tables during the exclusive launch weekend (18th and 19th June).
Purezza’s range of creative Neapolitan-style pizzas features its own patented plant-based mozzarella – the recipe is a closely guarded secret but is made using plants, is hypoallergenic, and tastes, looks and melts just like the real thing. The dough is made from a specialist recipe, with a choice of organic wholegrain sourdough, hemp or ‘Freedom’ (gluten-free) bases.
As well as classics such as the Margherita, the menu features unique pizzas like the rustic Parmigiana Party (National Pizza of the Year 2018), which uses aubergine parmigiana and vegan sausages, The One With The Nduja, featuring a unique plant-based take on the Italian spicy topping, and a fully plant-based black truffle pizza with vegan pulled pork and wild mushrooms. Other organic toppings include friarielli, plant-based tuna, grilled artichokes, and smoked beetroot carpaccio – all are ethically sourced and carefully selected.
Alternative tasty mains include a meat-free, stone-baked lasagna and Cheesesteak Calzone with seitan salami, courgettes and semi-dried tomatoes.
Nutritious sides and salads are on the menu too, with salads such as the Pure Bowl – organic spiced lentils and buckwheat tossed with kale, peppers and semi-dried tomatoes, topped with pesto courgetti spaghetti, crunchy corn, marinated olives, parmesan cheese, and a balsamic glaze.
For dessert there’s a caramel brownie, lemon cheesecake, and The Chocolate One, where a signature fluffy sourdough is used and is coated in a homemade chocolate-hazelnut spread and topped with white chocolate crumble and ice cream.
In addition, you can wash down your pizza with a range of creative cocktails and organic beers and wines. Food will also be available via local delivery services.
Tim Barclay, co-founder and co-owner of Purezza, says: “We’re so excited that our Manchester site is opening, after a few setbacks during lockdowns, and we can’t wait to welcome customers through our doors. We know there’s a vibrant foodie scene in and around the city and that Mancunian pizza lovers will love our menu options, and our sustainable, planet-friendly ethos.”
“To celebrate the launch, we’re giving Mancunians free pizza during our soft launch weekend on 18th and 19th June so sign up soon to be in with a chance to win – your friends will love you for it.”
Just enter your email address on the site [https://purezza.co.uk/launch/] to enter the prize draw to win one of four tables at the exclusive pre-launch weekender. Four winners will be selected at random with a table for two and a table for four available on 18th and 19th June, and a free a starter, main course, dessert and drink for each person.
As well as planet-friendly food, sustainability is at the forefront of its values. The restaurant is fitted out with reclaimed and upcycled furniture, and decoration has been completed with eco-friendly and organic paints.
Its pizzas are renowned globally, having won National Pizza of the Year in 2018 and received awards at the World Pizza Championships in 2019. It also won Vegan Restaurant of the Year in 2020. The Manchester branch is the brand’s sixth site.
